Singing for adults – all levels welcome
From Bredbury it’s an easy trip to my Marple studio – a short drive through Romiley, a direct train from Bredbury station to Marple, or the 384 bus. It’s the kind of journey that fits neatly around work.
I teach adults at every stage, from complete beginners to confident singers who want to take their voice further. Lessons cover the foundations – breathing, pitch, tone and range – but always through the songs you want to sing, in styles from pop and rock to folk and musical theatre.
If nerves have held you back, you’re in good company. I’ve had performance anxiety myself, so I know how to make lessons feel safe and encouraging from the very first minute.
My home studio is in Marple. Prefer to stay at home? Online lessons are the same price.

I really couldn’t sing in tune and thought I was a no-hoper but Mags reassured me over the phone that it was possible to learn. She’s a brave lady taking me on! I’m starting to recognise when I’m in tune now whereas before I hadn’t a clue; and whilst I’m not the best of singers, I can definitely hear the improvement in my tuning and voice strength.
Mags is an absolutely amazing teacher. I can’t tell you how nervous I was on my first lesson but Mags put me at my ease and very slowly we have found my voice. A year later I have done 3 public performances and even enrolled on a week long singing course.
She is kind and funny and incredibly encouraging. So even if you are convinced you have no voice, you may just surprise yourself!

Mags has transformed my voice from what could best be described as a window-shattering strangled cat to something very passable! We’ve tackled some fab power ballads and I can now sing my heart out in the car without my passengers demanding ear plugs. I absolutely love my sessions with her and feel like I just keep on improving. She is a fantastic teacher, exceptionally perceptive and very lovely to boot. A vocal miracle-worker for sure!

Not at all – it's very common. We'll go at your pace, starting with simple exercises, and building confidence is part of what we work on.
