Lessons Monday to Saturday · in Marple & online
Singing for adults – all levels welcome
My Marple studio sits right on the edge of Tameside, so singers from Hyde, Gee Cross, Denton, Dukinfield, Stalybridge, Ashton and Mossley can all reach me easily. Hyde and Woodley are on the Rose Hill line, with direct trains to Rose Hill Marple, a short walk from the studio.
Tameside has a strong tradition of choirs and amateur theatre, and I love helping singers build the technique and confidence to enjoy it. I also love working with complete beginners who have never sung in front of anyone.
Lessons are for adults, in contemporary styles, either in person or online.
My home studio is in Marple. Prefer to stay at home? Online lessons are the same price.
Most of Tameside is 15 to 30 minutes away via Hyde and Werneth Low
The Rose Hill line runs through Guide Bridge, Hyde North, Hyde Central and Woodley to Rose Hill Marple (Monday to Saturday).
All levels and abilities welcome, from “tone-deaf” to gigging professionals.

I really couldn’t sing in tune and thought I was a no-hoper but Mags reassured me over the phone that it was possible to learn. She’s a brave lady taking me on! I’m starting to recognise when I’m in tune now whereas before I hadn’t a clue; and whilst I’m not the best of singers, I can definitely hear the improvement in my tuning and voice strength.
Mags is an absolutely amazing teacher. I can’t tell you how nervous I was on my first lesson but Mags put me at my ease and very slowly we have found my voice. A year later I have done 3 public performances and even enrolled on a week long singing course.
She is kind and funny and incredibly encouraging. So even if you are convinced you have no voice, you may just surprise yourself!
57 years of being too scared to use such a wonderful instrument and Mags had me singing confidently in no time.
Thank you Mags. You are a HERO!
Mags has transformed my voice from what could best be described as a window-shattering strangled cat to something very passable! We’ve tackled some fab power ballads and I can now sing my heart out in the car without my passengers demanding ear plugs. I absolutely love my sessions with her and feel like I just keep on improving. She is a fantastic teacher, exceptionally perceptive and very lovely to boot. A vocal miracle-worker for sure!
Hyde, Gee Cross and Werneth Low are the closest, at around 15 minutes by car.
Yes. One-to-one lessons are a great way to build confidence, tuning and breath control for choir singing.
