Singing lessons in Hyde

Singing for adults – all levels welcome

Getting from Hyde to my Marple studio is simple. You can drive over Werneth Low or through Woodley and Romiley, or take the direct train from Hyde Central to Rose Hill Marple, which is a short walk from me.

Hyde has a lively amateur theatre scene centred on the Festival Theatre, and I love working with singers who are preparing for an audition, getting a solo ready, or simply wanting to feel more at home on stage. You don’t need to be a performer, though. Plenty of people come to lessons purely because they want to enjoy singing without feeling self-conscious, and that’s every bit as welcome.

I teach adults of all abilities in contemporary styles: musical theatre, pop, rock and folk. Each lesson is built around your voice, your goals and the songs you want to sing, at a pace that suits you.

Testimonials

I really couldn’t sing in tune and thought I was a no-hoper but Mags reassured me over the phone that it was possible to learn. She’s a brave lady taking me on! I’m starting to recognise when I’m in tune now whereas before I hadn’t a clue; and whilst I’m not the best of singers, I can definitely hear the improvement in my tuning and voice strength.

Mike

A hero!

Mags is an absolutely amazing teacher. I can’t tell you how nervous I was on my first lesson but Mags put me at my ease and very slowly  we have found my voice. A year later I have done 3 public performances and even enrolled on a week long singing course.

She is kind and funny and incredibly encouraging. So even if you are convinced you have no voice, you may just surprise yourself!

57 years of being too scared to use such a wonderful instrument and Mags had me singing confidently in no time.

Thank you Mags. You are a HERO!

Jane

A vocal miracle worker

Mags has transformed my voice from what could best be described as a window-shattering strangled cat to something very passable! We’ve tackled some fab power ballads and I can now sing my heart out in the car without my passengers demanding ear plugs. I absolutely love my sessions with her and feel like I just keep on improving. She is a fantastic teacher, exceptionally perceptive and very lovely to boot. A vocal miracle-worker for sure!
