Lessons Monday to Saturday · in Marple & online
Singing for adults – all levels welcome
Romiley is one of the closest places to my home studio in Marple. It’s a short drive, or one stop on the train to Rose Hill Marple, which is a short walk from me, so it’s easy to fit a lesson around work, the school run or a commute into Manchester.
I teach adults of every level, from complete beginners who’ve always been told they can’t sing to experienced singers who want to sharpen their technique. Lessons are shaped around you and the music you love – pop, rock, folk, jazz or musical theatre.
If you already sing with a local choir, or you’re thinking about auditioning for a show, we can focus on exactly what you need: confidence, singing in tune, breath control, or getting one particular song performance-ready. And if you’d rather stay at home, online lessons work brilliantly too.

I really couldn’t sing in tune and thought I was a no-hoper but Mags reassured me over the phone that it was possible to learn. She’s a brave lady taking me on! I’m starting to recognise when I’m in tune now whereas before I hadn’t a clue; and whilst I’m not the best of singers, I can definitely hear the improvement in my tuning and voice strength.
Mags is an absolutely amazing teacher. I can’t tell you how nervous I was on my first lesson but Mags put me at my ease and very slowly we have found my voice. A year later I have done 3 public performances and even enrolled on a week long singing course.
She is kind and funny and incredibly encouraging. So even if you are convinced you have no voice, you may just surprise yourself!
57 years of being too scared to use such a wonderful instrument and Mags had me singing confidently in no time.
Thank you Mags. You are a HERO!
Mags has transformed my voice from what could best be described as a window-shattering strangled cat to something very passable! We’ve tackled some fab power ballads and I can now sing my heart out in the car without my passengers demanding ear plugs. I absolutely love my sessions with her and feel like I just keep on improving. She is a fantastic teacher, exceptionally perceptive and very lovely to boot. A vocal miracle-worker for sure!
Lessons are a great way to get more out of singing with a local group – or to build the confidence to join one.

Yes. One-to-one lessons give you time to work on the things that are hard to fix in a big group – singing in tune, breath control, holding your part and the confidence to sing out.
Of course. Online lessons are the same price as lessons in person, and all you need is a laptop, tablet or phone with a camera and microphone.
